Improving urban spaces through research + design

Prior to my digital UX work experience, I have built a foundation in research and design of urban spaces.

Reimagining Tampines

Background
With urban challenges such as increasing population density, how can mature towns like Tampines continue to be liveable and sustainable for residents so that a better quality of life can be achieved?

Apart from independent research I conducted, three workshops were further organised to develop a Tampines Liveability Blueprint to guide future planning of the estate. This was developed together with Danish urban consultants Gehl Architects, public agencies, NUS architecture students, civic groups and grassroots advisors.

Draft Masterplan 2013 - Punggol

Background
As part of showcasing URA’s Draft Masterplan 2013 to public, it was important that residents could understand the plans for their area in a bite-sized and digestible manner. This was done by translating the more technical masterplan into a planning area brochure, with write-ups on key areas, and simplifying the land uses and landmarks into easily recognisable icons.
